Grades 6th-8th
In this class, junior high students continue to learn the faith basics and how they apply to daily living so the information is converted from knowledge to action. They deepen their understanding of God’s word using Quest Bibles and Luther’s Small Catechism. The students learn about the responsibilities of being a disciple of Jesus through service to others, worship, prayer and independent Bible reading. Families receive updates and materials to use at home to keep them engaged to reinforce what is taught in class. These young people participate in community service and begin serving within the walls of the church. The teacher keeps in contact with parents throughout so they are actively participating with their student. The three-year program culminates with students writing their own personal faith statement, sharing it with the congregation and affirming the promises made at their baptism.
