These two classes further develop a young disciple of Jesus by teaching basic Bible stories and introducing the students to using a Bible themselves.  Children’s Bibles are used in the K-2 room and simply worded NIV Bibles are used in the grade 3-5 room.  The children learn the basics of Faith (head knowledge) through the Ten Commandments, the Lord’s Prayer, and the Apostle’s Creed.  These children reinforce the beginning habits of a disciple through prayer and teachers engage and communicate with parents so they can reinforce lessons at home.  When a child understands the concept of sin and need for forgiveness (usually at about 3rd grade) first communion classes are offered for students and parents.
